Friuli (correctly Friuli Venezia Giulia) is the most Northeast region of Italy. Till 1990 was the last bulwark and European Eastern border with the communism. Jugoslavia was just there and Gorizia was divided with a wall in the city with a sort of East Berlin named Nova Gorica. Today close to the Fusine Lakes there is a point with three borders: Italy, Austria and Slovenia (see image 15). Friuli is one of the most important world wars region. My grand father was born in 1901 in Austro-Hungaric Empire territory and Trieste was the most important harbor for Wien Emperor Franz Joseph…
…nevertheless Friuli is one of the symbol of my summer youth when I spent my holiday among Lignano on the beach, Pagnacco in my mother's country family house and the Tagliamento river. Summer 2020 was my “summer back” to my youth region searching to my places and souvenirs. I was looking for the perfumes of the grapes and the mais relaxing my body and enjoying all peaceful time with fantastic wine and food with my wife and family. I have desired to go back with calm and time, taking my time also for photography. No stress, no street. No urban, no city, just me and film photography with a new baby: Mamiya 645 M
PS: we went to our country house in Pagnacco instead of traveling worldwide because of the Covid_19 Pandemic, so if this bad 2020 has something positive this is the possibility to slow down and take our time and see that what we have close is so good and fantastic!
