He was born in 1971 in Milan, the city in the north of Italy (capital of the fashion) where he now lives, dividing his time between the sales manager activity and that of the photographer. In addition to being a member of the Collective ISP, it is part of WPJA – Wedding Photojournalist Association and he makes wedding photo reportage for international couples take wedding in Italy.
Over the years his photographic work was reported and reviewed in several newspapers and photo-magazines. Among the most important a mention is about of “Corriere della Sera -“ The most important newspaper in Italy – in January 2003 for the personal exhibition “One” relative to his manipulation of Polaroid film, and its enlargements 1m. In September 2012 some of his photos have been published on the wedding magazine “in Marriage” by Condé Nast. In 2013 the service for IIR Italian Copper Institute in collaboration with Leica Italy Srl for the article “the newspaper materials”, published in Dec13 / Jan14 on the design national magazine “Octagon”, written in both Italian and English.
In 2015 he obtained the important honorable mention for the Still Life category in the competition International Exposure Award with the series on mass retailers exhibited at the Musée du Louvre in Paris. In the same year he was a finalist for the Travel Photographer of the Year contest.
Giuseppe Pons today is an active member of the Italian Street Photography Project and the international community WSP (world street photography) which boasts several “front pages.” It has recently been listed among the 115 most influential international street photographers of 2016 by the readers of the magazine online streethunters.net and not least one of street Image was placed among the 300 winners of the Contest “Four Third’s Day” organized by the pool of producers of the 4/3 system including Olympus and Panasonic.
In 2017, one of his "Street" images was one of the "graduates" of the annual international competition organized by the leading photography magazine PHOTO France, and is the winner of a Honorable Mention with the FASHION BACKSIDE series at PX3 de Paris, as well as finalist at TPO (Travel Photographer of the Year)
During 2018 he received the Silver Medal at PX3 and a Honorable Mention at the IPA for his work on Milan Fashion Week.
Year 2019 was the time for the personal exhibition "AMERICANO" to the Leica Gallery in Porto about its vision of the iconic American South West without frills.
He realizes workshops and photographic life experiences such as Chicago Street Photography and the Palio Event Experience in Siena.
The technical tool: it doesn’t matter! Often I shot also without camera, just with eye, brain, stomach and soul.
